Jeff Chomyn
Skills Instructor
Jeff got his first taste of coaching working the summer hockey schools for his respective teams during his 4 years in the AJHL and SJHL along with 3 years at SAIT. From there he journeyed to Japan where he started a hockey school along with a former teammate from college. This led to an opportunity to coach a high school team there where, over the course of 15 years, he helped build a program that saw the team start from scratch and develop into nation champions on multiple occasions.
During this time he was asked to coach the Japanese U18 National Team Development Program. Here he organized and led a variety of clinics and camps throughout the country and in neighbouring countries along with 4 appearances at the IIHF Div II World Championships resulting in silver and bronze medals.
Upon returning to Canada he has spent time coaching at every level of hockey from Novice to Midget to Jr. B. A highlight of his extensive coaching education was a week-long IIHF event in Finland which resulted in his group developing the Coaches Instructor manual for the IIHF.
His passion to develop untapped potential in young players is what fuels him to continue to learn and grow as a coach and skills instructor.
